Adopt a American Shorthair

American Shorthair Cat

Callie the Cat needs a home

Pretty, Differently Lovable, Survivor Callie has shown us that determined fighters can come in the prettiest, most delicate packages. This calico beauty is diabetic and lapsed into a diabetic coma. Thanks to modern medicine and her drive to live, she pulled out of it. She did suffer brain damage as a result and is now a bit unpredictable such as biting or scratching without warning. But, she does have a friendly side and is happy if she's left to hang out and do her own thing...you know, independent kitty stuff! Callie's diabetes does require extra medical care, which may include regulated diet and does require insulin. Fortunately, giving Callie her insulin shots is a breeze if you give them to her while she's eating. She's too busy chowing down to notice or care! For detailed information, please contact APA! Callie would do best in a home with no other pets and without children. We don't think Callie should be pitied, shunned or dismissed simply because her brain no longer works like other kitties. In fact, she's that much more in need of love and understanding. If you're just the person to give this sweet survivor a warm, cozy place to call home, contact us to meet Callie today. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
